The mountains surrounding Lake Tahoe, California were among the first trails explored by the first mountain biking enthusiast. Today, various ski areas offer a free summer lift to the top of the hill for you and your two wheels. The descent is up to you. If you've never skied in the US until Squaw, then you haven't mountain biked until the Sierras.
